Lily Batte, of South Bruce, is in her first year at Lambton College and is studying to become a paramedic. She looks forward to supporting the community by working for local paramedical services upon completion of her schooling. Since 2012, the Municipality of South Bruce has been learning more about Canada’s plan for the long-term management of used nuclear fuel, which is the responsibility of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO). The plan, named Adaptive Phased Management, requires the used fuel to be safely and securely contained and isolated from people and the environment in a deep geological repository in a suitable rock formation.
