Notice of Election Information - 2024 South Bruce Referendum

Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (s.40)

A by-election will be held in the Municipality of South Bruce on
October 28, 2024

to submit the following question to the electors:

“Are you in favour of the Municipality of South Bruce declaring South Bruce to be a willing host for the Nuclear Waste Management Organization’s proposed Deep Geological Repository (DGR)?”

  • Voting will be conducted using internet and telephone voting as authorized by By-law 2024-46. Voter Information letters with instructions to access telephone and internet voting will arrive in the mail approximately a week prior to the voting period.
  • The voting period begins October 21, 2024 at 10 AM and closes at October 28, 2024 at 8 PM.

Voter Assistance Centres will be open as follows:

Mildmay-Carrick Station Fire Hall, 9 Absalom Street East, Mildmay, Ontario

  • Monday, October 21, 2024 – 10:00am-4:30pm
  • Tuesday, October 22, 2024 – 9:00am-4:30pm
  • Wednesday, October 23, 2024 – 12:00pm-7:00pm
  • Sunday, October 27, 2024 - 12:00pm-4:00pm
  • Monday, October 28, 2024 - 9:00am-8:00pm

Council Chambers, Municipal Office, 21 Gordon Street East, Teeswater, Ontario

  • Wednesday, October 23, 2024 – 12:00pm-7:00pm
  • Thursday October 24, 2024 – 9:00am-4:30pm
  • Friday October 25, 2024 - 9:00am-4:30pm
