Household hazardous and special waste requires special handling for collection, storage, transportation, and disposal. This is because when the materials are not handled properly, it can be harmful to people, animals, or the environment. Your household hazardous and special waste should never be:

  • Put in your garbage or blue box
  • Poured down the drain
  • Flushed down the toilet
  • Poured down storm sewers or street catch basins
