Roads, Sidewalks and Parking

The Municipality of South Bruce Public Works Department is responsible for approximately 413 km of municipal roadway. This includes approximately 174 km gravel, 65 km asphalt surfaces, 174 km tar and chip, and 41 bridge and culvert structures.

Road Management

The Ministry of Transportation encourages the municipalities in the small lower tier group to undertake a road management study periodically.

Bridge/Culvert Management

The Ministry of Transportation requires inspections of the Municipality’s bridges and culverts every two years as per O. Reg. 472/10.

Dust Control

Dust control is usually applied to our gravel roads each spring between mid-May and late June. However, timing may be dependent on contractor availability and weather conditions.

Report a Problem

The Municipality appreciates your help in reporting issues you observe with regards to our roads and streets. 

Concerns include, but are not limited to:

Streetlights that are not working or need repair

Road sign missing or damaged

Roadside litter and garbage dumping

Dead animals and roadkill

Potholes

Debris on roads

Mailbox damage from snowplow

Winter operations

Roadside ditching, drainage and culverts
