South Bruce COVID-19 Update: Continuity of Business Operations and Municipal Facilities.
The Ontario Government has declared a province wide emergency break and announced measures, which will come into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2021.
The Municipality will continue to provide the core services to our residents in a safe manner. Please review the list, below, to see the Municipalities response to the changes:
Municipal Office, 21 Gordon Street in Teeswater will be closed to the public until further notice. Staff will be available by appointment, phone or e-mail by contacting 519-392-6623 or by email.
Council and Committee meetings will continue in an electronic format. Meetings are held virtually through Zoom and can be accessed by the municipal website.
Landfill: Will remain open and cash will be accepted with practicing social distancing at these sites and will be encouraged to not come into contact with the public. Garbage bags must already have bag tags on them.
Garbage and recycling: Garbage and Recycling pick-up in the Municipality of South Bruce will continue as scheduled and residents are urged to please utilize this service rather than visit the Landfill sites.
Emergency Services: The Municipality of South Bruce Emergency Services Department will continue to provide Emergency Response services to the community without delay or interruption.
Finance: Taxes and Municipal Payments will continue to be processed. Secure drop-off boxes will be available for residents to drop off documentation and payments, which is checked regularly by staff. There is one located at Mac’s Milk in Mildmay and outside the Municipal Administration Building in Teeswater. Payments can also be made through online banking. For all tax inquiries, questions about payments, or concerns, please contact the Treasury Department 519-392-6623.
Building and Planning: The Building Department will continue services. We encourage everyone applying for a permit to complete online through Cloudpermit on our Municipal Website, or email the permit or submit drawings and documents in a designated bin located in the front of the Municipal Office in Teeswater during regular business hours. Please contact the Chief Building Official by email: cbo@southbruce.ca or 519-392-6623 if you have any questions regarding how permits and inspections will be dealt with during this public closure period.
Recreation: All Recreation Facilities in the Municipality of South Bruce will be closed until further notice including:
The ice surfaces at the Teeswater Culross Community Complex will be removed. Removal will start shortly.

As Ontario enters, its third wave of the pandemic the Municipality of South Bruce is asking citizens to follow the government’s Emergency Break Measures and avoid any non-essential trips outside their residences.
“I would like to thank everyone for their ongoing cooperation and patience as we adapt to the challenges of the pandemic. It is very important that everyone works together and does not become complacent in adhering to the measures that are in place to protect us,” said Mayor Buckle.
