South Bruce COVID-19 Update: Ontario Temporarily Moving to Modified Step Two of their Roadmap to Reopen
The Ontario Government announced, the province will move into Step Two of its Roadmap to Reopen, with modifications, effective January 5, 2022 at 12:01 a.m, due to the increase of COVID-19 hospitalizations. These time-limited measures are geared towards preventing hospitals from becoming overwhelmed as the province continues to accelerate its booster dose rollout.
In an effort to comply with provincial orders, the Municipality of South Bruce is implementing the following measurers effective immediately:
All indoor recreation facilities in the Municipality of South Bruce will be closed until further notice. These facilities include:
Outdoor recreation amenities including public trails, playgrounds remain open.
The Municipal Administration Office will be open by appointment only until further notice, to support the Public Health guidelines staff where possible will be working remotely from home. The secure drop-off boxes will be available for residents to drop off documentation and payments, which is checked regularly by staff. There is one located at Mac’s Milk in Mildmay and outside the Municipal Administration Building in Teeswater.
Taxes and other Municipal payments can be paid by mail, the secure drop boxes at the Municipal Office in Teeswater or Mac’s Milk in Mildmay, online and telephone banking. Payments will continue to be processed on a daily basis. Please contact the Treasury Department dkennedy@southbruce.ca if you have concerns about how to make your payments during this time.
Building Services will continue as per normal operation procedure. We encourage those to apply for building permit using www.cloudpermit.com . Please contact the Chief Building Official by email cbo@southbruce.ca or phone 519-392-6623 if you have any questions regarding permits and to book inspections.
Council and Budget Meetings will continue to meet remotely via Zoom video-conferencing. Dates, times, agendas and meeting links can be found on the Municipal website: www.southbruce.ca
Emergency Fire Rescue Services and Public Works will continue to provide Essential services.
The public is encouraged to follow the direction of the Public Health Unit and stay up to date at www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca and to monitor the municipal website for further South Bruce updates at www.southbruce.ca. The Municipality also recommends that the public follow protocols outlined by the Provincial Medical Officer of Health: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/public-health-measures
