Notice: Municipal By-Election - 2024 Voters List For the Municipality of South Bruce

Notice is hereby given that the Voters’ List for the 2024 Municipal By-Election, for the Municipality of South Bruce has been prepared as required under the Municipal Elections Act. The Voters’ list is available for inspection at the South Bruce Municipal Office, at 21 Gordon Street East, Teeswater, ON, as of September 3, 2024, during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

All electors should ensure that their names and relevant information are correctly shown on the Voters’ List and to take immediate proceedings to have any errors or omissions corrected on the prescribed form (Form EL15 or EL16) according to law. The prescribed form shall be filed in person, by the applicant or his/her agent or by mail by the applicant. The form must be accompanied with proper ID showing the Voter’s name, qualifying address and signature.

The last day for filing applications to add or remove your own name is Monday, October 28, 2024 at 8:00 p.m.
Revisions of the list will be taken at the Municipal Office, located at 21 Gordon Street Teeswater during:

• Regular office hours through to October 28th, 2024
• Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the Formosa Hall – 5:00pm-8:00pm
• Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Mildmay Carrick Recreation Complex – 5:00pm-8:00pm
• Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Municipal Office – 8:30am-11:00am
• Monday, October 28th, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Revisions will also be taken at the Voter Assistance Centers. Locations and times of the Centre’s hours of operation will be posted on the Municipal Website.

Qualifications of Electors

A person is entitled to be an elector at an election held in a local municipality, unless prohibited by this Act or any other Act, if he or she on voting day:
• Resides in the local municipality, or
• Is the owner or tenant of land in the Municipality, or the spouse or same sex partner of such owner or tenant; and
• Is a Canadian citizen,
• Is at least 18 years old, and
• Is not prohibited from voting under this Act or otherwise prohibited bylaw.
