SOUTH BRUCE, ON – The Municipality of South Bruce is pleased to announce that Vivian Kennedy has been promoted to the position of Deputy Clerk, effective Monday, April 19th, 2021.
Kennedy has been employed with the Municipality of South Bruce since July 2019, first serving as Public Works Administrative Assistant, before accepting the role of Community Liaison Committee (CLC) Project Coordinator, which she has been in for the past year and a half.
She has a background as a law clerk, and worked in such a capacity prior to joining the Municipality. Kennedy resides in Teeswater with her family and has been a lifelong resident of South Bruce.
“We are pleased to have promoted Vivian Kennedy to the role of Deputy Clerk for South Bruce. She has demonstrated over the past couple of years her attention to detail and her ability to adapt successfully to various roles that support the operation of the Municipality,” said Mayor Robert Buckle.
“Vivian has a great understanding of municipal processes and recently completed the Municipal Clerks Institute - Level 1 through the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO). She is a strong administrative professional and we believe she will do an excellent job in this new role,” said CAO/Clerk Leanne Martin.
The Municipality extends their appreciation to Tracy Grubb, for her service as Deputy Clerk, and previously as an Administrative Assistant in South Bruce for the past five years, and wish her success in her career pursuits.
Kennedy’s promotion to Deputy Clerk leaves the position of CLC Project Coordinator vacant. A recruitment process for this position will begin shortly, and interested candidates will be invited to check the Careers page on the municipal website for updates.
