South Bruce, Ontario: The Municipality of South Bruce is excited to partner with Bruce County to launch the Spruce the Bruce program on February 1, 2025. Spruce the Bruce provides grant funding to help strengthen communities and maintain and enhance downtown businesses. Eligible businesses and property owners are encouraged to learn more and apply at sprucethebruce.com.
The Spruce the Bruce program funding furthers support for small businesses, grow and develop niche opportunities for tourism, and redevelop downtown areas in South Bruce. Spruce the Bruce has been offered in South Bruce since 2013 to assist the community meet the desires and ambitions of the local business community.
“The Spruce the Bruce program has awarded a total of $143,922 to South Bruce businesses, with $17,129 being awarded in 2024,” says Mayor Mark Goetz. “I hope that our businesses continue to take advantage of this program and keep adding to the services and amenities offered in the area.”
Bruce County supports a maximum of 50 per cent of eligible costs, excluding taxes, up to a set maximum per Spruce the Bruce grant. Properties that have received Spruce the Bruce funding in past years may be eligible for funding in 2025 for projects. Funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to eligible businesses and property owners.
