SOUTH BRUCE, ON – The Teeswater Medical Centre Development Steering Committee held their Corporate Fundraising kickoff event on Saturday April 2nd, 2022. Co-Chair Larry Hayes opened the ceremony with an introduction of all the committee members as well as former members who have helped along the process of being able to bring a Medical Centre to Teeswater.
Lisa Thompson, Member of Provincial Parliament for Huron—Bruce and Teeswater resident was on hand to present a cheque in the amount of $250,000 to the committee received through the Rural Economic Development (RED) program from the Province.
Nancy MacDonald-Exel, Chief Financial Officer of Kinectrics and Teeswater native was also on hand to speak on how important this medical centre will be for the community and the growth it will create for the community. Peter Shaw, Plant Manager of Kinectrics was also present to help Nancy present a cheque in the amount of $250,000 as a corporate donation from Kinectrics.
Remarks were also given by Dwight Leslie, Chair of the Fundraising Sub-Committee, and Robert Buckle, Mayor of the Municipality of South Bruce, who also expressed his full support of the project.
