In August 2023, we started the exciting journey of updating our brand - including our community logos and a catchy tagline, to make our community feel more united and to boost our pride.
Implementing a fresh new brand that best represents the community for today and for the future, will align the municipality with its Corporate Strategic and Economic Development Plans that were completed in 2021 and give a competitive edge for growth opportunities. When the current brand toolkits were created over 10 years ago, Formosa did not meet the business/industry and infrastructure requirements to be considered a town and was excluded from branding and the CIPA. This left Formosa ineligible for grant opportunities. Formosa now meets the infrastructure requirements to be eligible for a brand toolkit. The Municipality is rebranding to include Formosa so there is equal grant opportunities for South Bruce businesses and to foster community cohesiveness.
We have recently updated our Community Improvement Plan Areas (CIPA) to include all commercial buildings in the 3 communities of Mildmay, Teeswater & Formosa, as well as a Municipal Wide CIPA. The final step to complete this process for grant eligibility for our South Bruce Businesses is to establish and review current branding and façade guidelines in each of the communities.
