Curbside Garbage and Recycling Pickup

Notice: Mildmay Curbside Garbage collection will be Monday, December 23 and Monday, December 30 due to stat holidays falling on regularly scheduled garbage pickup Wednesdays.

Curbside garbage pickups happen every week and recycling pickups occur bi-weekly if you live within the urban areas of the Municipality of South Bruce. If you live in a rural area or have larger items to dispose of, you must drop off your waste at one of our two landfills.

Weekly curbside garbage

Please set your garbage out by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day for pick up. A Bag Tag must be affixed to each bag. For questions about garbage collection or missed pick ups, contact Bruce Service, Sales & Rentals at 1-800-536-5175.

Garbage Bag-Tag Program: Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT)

All garbage bags must be under 40 pounds and each bag must have a bag tag on it.

Our bag tags are $2.50 each and are found at convenient locations in South Bruce including:

You can also buy bag tags at our landfill sites for $3 each. 

How to use bag tags

Follow these steps to attach you bag tag to your garbage:

1. Close your bag with a twist tie or knot
2. Wrap the tag around the neck of the garbage bag so both ends of the tag are visible
3. If using a container, place the tag on the uppermost item inside the container so the tag is visible

Leaf and Yard Waste Program

We offer a Leaf and Yard Waste Program during late October and early November where we will pick up your bagged leaves through a curbside pickup service. We will post a schedule and details in early Fall.
