Hazardous Waste Collection

You can get rid of your household hazardous and special waste (HHSW) at the Bruce County Waste Management. They ensure that you dispose of your waste safely to protect the environment.

Where to dispose hazardous materials

Drop off your hazardous materials at any of the scheduled Bruce County collection programs. These programs are held at specific locations and times throughout the year. Please note the County is taking all precautions to make sure you and staff are practicing safe protocols during COVID-19.

Proper disposal practices

HHSW requires special handling for collection, storage, transportation, and disposal. This is because when the materials are not handled properly, it can be harmful to people, animals, or the environment. Your HHSW should never be:

• Put in your garbage or blue box
• Poured down the drain
• Flushed down the toilet
• Poured down storm sewers or street catch basins
