In the Municipality of South Bruce, we are committed to winter road maintenance to help keep our roads clear and safe for drivers. Public Works staff remove snow from municipal roadways based on the Minimum Maintenance Standards set out by the Ministry of Transportation and regularly monitor road and weather conditions.
To allow for safe plowing and snow removal, please remember that parking is prohibited on any street or municipal parking lot from November 1 to March 31 between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. in accordance with By-Law 2012-40. Vehicles may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
Do not deposit snow or ice on a roadway or street. Under the Highway Traffic Act, you can be fined and you may also be held liable in case of an accident.
Our staff do their very best to avoid mailboxes when clearing the snow from our roads. You can help us by adding reflective tape to mailboxes to make them more visible, especially during snow storms. You can also ensure they are installed in the proper location.
